Meet Jill Kurtz

Page Sustainability Project Manager Jill Kurtz, AIA, has many diverse responsibilities but they all take the firm forward in the same direction. She is responsible for managing the process of tracking sustainability metrics during project lifecycles, guiding design teams through energy and daylight parametric modeling to inform early project designs, coordinating interdisciplinary teams to understand lifecycle cost and long term impacts of strategies, and developing educational content to further sustainability expertise among employees. Jill has reorganized Page’s LEED projects and has standardized certification efforts across all the offices.

Both genetics and environment ensured Jill would be destined to work in the architecture and construction industry. The child of a contractor, Jill spent much of her youth drawing on old blueprints and visiting her father at job sites which instilled in her a love of the craft of making buildings. Early in her career, extensive international development work in East Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia showed her that using less is a means of survival for much of the world and she realized the global importance of sustainability in the creation of buildings. Combining these two passions, Jill has since devoted her career to integrating sustainability into best building practices.

Coupling a B. Arch from Kansas State University with a M. Environmental Building Design from the University of Pennsylvania, Jill brings architectural experience to green building advising. In the span of a decade, she partnered with universities, developers, and top tech companies to implement green building standards on more than 30 projects. As an educator and adjunct professor, Jill sees every interaction as a learning opportunity and strives to embed sustainable concepts and thinking into the culture of every stakeholder that collaborates with Page.
