Page Sponsors Event Honoring Dell Medical School Leaders

The Austin Chamber of Commerce recently honored Dell Medical School Dean Clay Johnston and Professor of Internal Medicine Dr. Kenneth Shine as the 2016 Austinites of the Year. Page was a sponsor of the celebration luncheon. Pagers in attendance included Senior Principals Bob Burke and Larry Speck as well as Paul Bielamowicz, Daniel Brooks, Carla Fraser, Brian Roder and Wendy Dunnam Tita. The architecture of the medical school, including the Page-designed Health Learning Building, is featured prominently in the video documenting the significant contributions the school and Drs. Johnston and Shine have already made to the Austin community.

Shine, a former University of Texas System executive, was a fundamental influcence in the realization of the medical school and led efforts for its approval by the UT Board of Regents in 2012. Johnston became the dean of the school the following year. Both Johnston and Shine emphasized the unprecedented support for the school in the community as demonstrated by the approval of its founding through a 2012 Travis County referendum.

Dyal Branding & Graphics, a Page Company, is responsible for the medical school identity. The “Rethink Everything” identity and campaign includes extensive brand guidelines which the school has used to implement other communication pieces, including wayfinding. Page is the design architect for the Health Learning Building, which serves as the educational center, in association with The SLAM Collaborative. Page is the architect of record in association with ZGF Architects on the additional two buildings, the Health Transformation and the Health Discovery Buildings, as well as a parking garage.
